Deborah Doppelt – “I graduated college with a degree in Health and Physical Education and began my career after being a substitute for one year. I taught elementary P.E. for seven years, married and when my first child Josh was born I left the profession. Two years later Josh’s sister Jordan came along. It was not until Josh was in junior high that I began to go back to teaching as a substitute in the local schools. This is when we moved and I believe Josh had a difficult time fitting in to the larger regional school. Teaching full time in a private school from January of 2000, until my retirement in 2019. I moved three years ago to the town where my family had a summer home. I now work as a permanent substitute teacher in a local high school.” “A Mother’s Journey” is my first attempt at writing.
