About The Author

Hi! My name is Kimberly Johnson. I live in Christiansburg, Virginia with my husband and two toy Australian Shepherds. I’m a wife, mom to four amazing adult children, Mimmy, sister, and friend. I love hiking, gardening, camping, and hanging out with our grandchildren.

I’m an author who started writing in 2020 and published my first book in 2023. I have a passion for digging deeper into God’s Word revealing the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. I love Bible studies where friendships are cultivated and have a debt of gratitude to the ladies I’ve studied with over the years because they’ve shown me how to be a true follower of Christ.
This book was inspired by my children when they encouraged me to write down the idioms I say in conversation and explain what they actually meant. I grew up in rural North Carolina where my parents and grandma said these random sayings often. As I investigated their origin, so many actually came from Scripture, turning them into a devotion was a perfect fit.
